We hear the much-awaited football complex will finally have a groundbreaking in November. No word if it will be called the Peter C. Carroll Center following NCAA sanctions.

Groundbreaking is SC being ranked a spot ahead of UCLA in the latest USNews National rankings. Not so groundbreaking is USC being almost 100 spots below UCLA in the list of World's Best Universities. Strange times indeed. Pass that bong Dillon....

it's very entertaining...but then again most of the fans still read Ben's RipsItHawks blog and would never dare say a bad word about Pete

Forbes. #112 out of 610. Its misleading since it includes all colleges in the same listing - regardless of size. USN&WR breaks into national and regional schools.
Here are the Pac-10 ranks in Forbes:
6 - Stanford
65 - Berkeley
71 - UCLA
107 - UW
112 - USC
259 - Oregon
339 - UA
350 - OSU
377 - WSU
382 - ASU
Others:
33 - ND
185 - Colorado
188 - Utah
138 - U of Texas, Austin
What you all failed to note in the Forbes ranking is that it is based on student input only. That's like the ESPN fan poll.
The US News rankings are based on a different set of criteria altogether.
Now what about rankings based upon competitive abilities in the classroom, the athletic fields and the "real world". I hate to say it, but Stanford is probably #1 in that followed by USC, then UCLA, Berkley and Washington tnen Oregon then Arizona (in the Pac 10/12).
My, you are obsessed one, aren't you?
