Seattle rookie safety Earl Thomas got beat on a 56-yard pass the first play of last night's exhibition game with Green Bay.
``He thought he had the play made,'' Pete Carroll said. "The ball was amazingly thrown, and a great catch as well. He was there. We could have played better, there should have been two guys on it. Earl had a chance at it and didn't make his play.''
Somewhere, Taylor Mays is smiling.
I would mention the Seahawks lost the game but I don't think that will be unusual this season.

How the hell do you get beat on a 56-yard pass play when you practically line up in a neighboring state? Or does Earl Thomas get to play defense with the rest of his team?
Ouch Scotty. That was harsh. You think straight standing Taylor might have made the play? I am conflicted by my love for Ceasar and my love for Taylor...
That was an absolutely douche-tastic post, Scooter. You never fail to amaze!
And this relates to USC how?
