Kiffinspeak
USC scrimmages tomorrow. That means it is ``preseason Game 3,'' according to Coach Lane Kiffin. That year-and-a-half in the NFL apparently brought that term back to college football.
The term, ``preseason,'' is actually a marketing concoction by the NFL, which thought fans would be more likely to buy tickets to ``preseason games'' than ``exhibition games.''

Will Preseason Game 3 also be Kiffin's peak?
Thanks for the lexicon lesson, Wolf. But your knowledge of NFL marketing is as up-to-date as LA's last NFL team.
Here's how it works now: The NFL figured out that no fan in their right mind would ever buy a ticket to an NFL preseason game...no matter how they marketed it. So they decided to force their season ticket holders to buy a few 'preseason' games they didn't want, as part of the 'package'. Isn't it swell to have a monopoly?
yes westwood - kiffin intends this week to be his peak. he intends for the team to improve - to hit its peak - in each subsequent week as well. that's something the oblivious tank padilla should have kept in mind when he met his fate in 1994.
@in sheep's clothing: I hear that! Tank never knew what hit him!
