Kreuter Fired
USC athletic director Pat Haden fired baseball coach Chad Kreuter today.
USC baseball assistant coach Frank Cruz will serve as the interim coach.
``On my first day on the job at USC last week, I said one of my goals was to return the USC baseball program to national prominence,'' said Haden. ``There is no reason we shouldn't be there.
``We thank Chad Kreuter for his four years of hard work and service, but this move was necessary to revitalize our program. USC is synonymous with college baseball. This is the most successful and tradition-laden program in the country. We've won twice as many College World Series titles (12) as anybody. We need to get back to our championship ways.''

I could not agree more with the published statement, these were my sentiments exactly and I was truly puzzled why it didn't happen at least a year ago.
Cruz has had HC experience, but remember, he is interim, someone needs to hold the program together.

Coach Cruz is an very knowledgeable baseball Coach having worked Locally(LMU, and High Schools) and Internationally (w/Lasorda on U.S. amateur projects). His has a good reputation as a recruiter. This is his second time around coaching at USC (several years ago, prior to LMU , he was an assistant coach). He has a good reputation in the community and comes from an excellent Family (unlike the pack of dogs, knobs hails from).
"Poncho" is a Great choice and his competitive nature will improve USC's baseball program....and thereby FORCE the Bruins to ratchet it up if they want to remain atop Collegiate Baseball.

Wasn't knobs always boasting about having access to Garrets office....he took pride on being an insider...I guess knobs lost his Hall Pass when Garret was shown the door..maybe it was knobs writing all those press releases? His style of writing reeks of being similar.
