Not sure this is a good idea. fucla hasn't tackled in years, and you see where they are.

With the defensive line and lockdown corners SC has there won't be many breakthrough runs or catches by opponents, so tackling is a moot point

but without tackling, how will the trojans get used to the taste of dirt? or the crunch of broken souls? pete carroll better toughen up your boys, maybe import some south bend soil so they can learn to like that taste -- they'll be eating a bellyfull come october.

no tacking, what a joke. And somehow these USC football players are having injuries every single day of practice, can you imagine if they actually had live tackling? they would recruiting players from the student body right now just to field a team.

The Student Body team would still beat the bruins by a TD...

This approach hasn't hurt the NFL teams. I always had a concern for "Competition Tuesday". Save if for game day.

I'm sure Pete isn't bringing "Competition Tuesdays" to the Seahawks.

@TrojanConquest: I have posted many times about Competition Tuesday. I agree with you...There have been alot of Saturday's where the team looked very lethargic and like they left their "A" game on the practice field. Probably because the players thought the battle was won on Tuesday when they secured their starting job for another week. I do not believe Competition Tuesday was held during the Bowl Preparation Week....and the Bowl results show it.

Smart move by Lane. Limit the injuries. The NC two A and UCLA are conspiring to knock down troy by only giving them around 50 scholarship players. Try try try as hard as they might, we'll be ready to smash in skulls and break jaws starting Sept. 2nd and ending most gloriously December 4th for our AP championship game!!!

Lloyd Carr had no-tackling practices. That worked out okay... for awhile.
