Is it too soon to say Robert Woods might be starting midway through the season?

It's never too early to say Robert Woods is going to be starting midway through the season. Dude's gonna be a beast.

midway through the season, this kid will transfer out after usc gets pulverized in south bend.

charlie weis's recruiting efforts are finally paying off -- clausen and golden tate make the greatest qb/wr combo in college football, and pete carroll will be relying on barkely -- a true freshman -- in front of thousands of screaming irish. teo will lock on target and take him down.

touchdown jesus will get his revenge at last, and charlie weis will get another contract extension. the glory of the golden dome will be restored.

take it to the bank, ladies.

This is "Inside USC". If I want to find out about Notre Dame, I'll go on a site about them.

And NO, it's not too soon.

What is the current pecking order?

RoJo then...

i think it depends on whether the two WR spots are interchangeable, which I dont know if they are. So if they are interchangeable he may start but if not then I dont think he will pass Rojo for the flanker starting spot.

At this rate Baxter won't be played til halfway through the season!

Snort that pot, kid!

I bet they'll have a lot of 3 receiver formations, in place of the fullback.

Can you say "difference maker"? SC has been lacking impact players on offense over the last few years. I expect Baxter and Woods be that.

Wow, TC, you should be the OC

too bad wolf won't give us a detailed update on the wide receiver competition. seems like butler is doing well and prater should be awesome. too bad wolf can't tell us about ambles in practice. instead we get only info about ambles staying up past bedtime in the dorms.

Scott, its never too early to say anything "might" happen, unless of course its the Bruins and all their fans losing their inferiority complex.

Knucklehead! I agree with "TROGANCONQUEST"....this a USC site....except for when the site decides to FOCUS on UCLA BRUIN HEAD COACH, RICK NEUHEISEL, or Tennessee, or Seattle seahawks, or Notre Dame, or Washington, or Girls gone aloud, or Premier League Football, or The world cup, or.......

Fit On!

face it thai man. if you are a bruin fan, you are a loser with way too much time on your hands. go read some philosophy you jack-a-lope. i recommend schopenhauer's essays and aphorisms.

Thank you for your suggestion. I find I'm VERY busy with the hotel/restaurant venture, Golf, and my passion and appreciation of music (something, perhaps the only thing i have in common with Schopenhauer, he is a bit too negative for my taste, kind of like you and knobs). I wouldn't refer to you or KNOBS as "LOSERS"...but probably blame it all on your "youthful exuberance", something you will, hopefully grow out of.
Interesting you toss out the JACKALOPE reference..In my hometown..2 weeks ago FRIENDS put on a VERY Successful Golf Charity, Jackalope Open, benefiting HIV affected and Disabled Children. For a day...all of us were proud to be Jackalopes!
FITE ON!

Thai i wasn't aware that one can use an ipod while waiting tables at a hotel/restaurant or while cutting the grass at a golf course. I will give your manager a phone call.

@osezno: Obviously RoJo is going to be the featured receiver at flanker. But outside of his breakout performance in the RB vs Penn State (4 catches, 82 yards, 2 TDs), what has he done? In 09 he missed the first part of the season because of a broken collar bone & in the last 8 games he caught only 4.25 passes for 47.25 yards per game & 3 TDs. Most importantly when Williams sat out against Stanford because of injury RoJo caught 7 passes for only 69 yards and no TDs. He really needs to step it up since he's SC's best hope at WR.

Butler is expected to start at SE. When was the last time a true FR came in & started? I don't imagine that Kiffin's vertical passing game with west coast elements is going to be easy for a freshman to pick up. It's too bad Ausberry never panned out but I saw an article where Havili was saying that he & Ausberry were going to be featured out of the H/F-back position. Should be interesting to see. If Butler falters Kiffin will have either Prater, Ambles or Carswell to turn to.

The slot receiver probably would have been Patterson so I was surprised when he transferred. All he had to do was catch the ball more consistently & he would have had plenty of time on ESPN. As it is I think either Flournoy or Woods will be the primary slot receiver. So I don't think Woods will be a starter this year unless injuries decimate the position or the older guys just can't get it done. Woods should get time in the slot this year and could become the starting Flanker next year if he outplays Flournoy.
