Secondary Starters

| | Comments (3) |

If USC played a game today, here is who I would start in the secondary:

CB: Shareece Wright
S: Jawanza Starling
S: Tim McDonald
CB: Torin Harris
Nickel back: Nickell Robey

This could be an area in flux through the season, especially at corner. The safety position could also see some change if Drew McAllister ever gets healthy or Marshall Jones plays like he did in Monday night's practice. Harris and Robey both look ready to play now, however, which eases a big concern that existed last spring. And Starling's improved too, so the safety question is also less than in the spring.

How is Dion Bailey looking? Or was he a package deal for Scroggins?

NB Robey will back up Harris and Bryant will back up Schareece Wright. Baucham will provide depth at CB. Jones will back up McDonald and walk-on Ryan McMahon will provide depth at FS. But who will back up Starling at SS if McAllister is still not healthy by the end of camp? I'd bet on FR Demetrius Wright. I'd also bet that Bailey, Hall, and Brown will redshirt.

Damn good thing Robey's first name isn't "Quarterr" or MB7 would be facing serious competition. Fight On Nickell Robey!!
