WOW, I don't gamble, but if I did that is the best bet I've seen. It shows how the negative press have affected everyone's judgment.

NJ Trojan Author Profile Page said:

@Sy: SC's all-time winning % is 70%. 9-10 wins would be consistent with realistic expectations.

JAG Author Profile Page said:

By comparison, it's 5.5 for UCLA and 7.5 for ND. And it's only 10 for Alabama.

NOBS Author Profile Page said:

JAG, but NDLoser guarantees two of SC's losses will be against Fucla and ND. hahahahaha ROFLMAO

LAWYER JOHN Author Profile Page said:

9.5 victories would be 80% of 12 games. So the betters are torn between 9-3 and 10-2. 10-2 would be a very good season for this SC team, and I would take it so long as the losses were not to ucla or ND.

And without a bowl game, it means very little to a lot of people unless it is the bowl to determine the National Champion. I remember Trojan players being disappointed about going to "another" Rose Bowl.

Geez, greed knows no bounds. Trojans sure did become awfully spoiled in the 2000s. But it could be worse; we could be bruins.

SECTION 12 ROW 52 Author Profile Page said:

@LAWYER JOHN: With Hawaii, there are 13 games on this year's schedule, so it is between 9-4 and 10-3. This really means between 3 or 4 losses in the Pac 10. Not alot different than last year.

That it is a 13 game season is something to consider...

And of course where Neuheisel is putting his money.

Trojan Conquest Author Profile Page said:

Because it's a 13 game season, I'm going to place a bet on the over.
Wins: 4 non-con games, Wash State, ASU
Should win: home games against Cal, Wash
Toss ups: @ OSU, @ UofA, @ UCLA because it's rivalry game
Underdogs: Oregon, @ Stanford

I think they'll for sure lose 2 games. So out of the 3 toss up games, they need to win 2. UofA is overrated and should be in the "should win" column. That leaves needing a victory over either OSU or UCLA. Or split their "underdog" games, which is very likely. They'll probably win a game they should lose, and lose a game they should win. I won't bet the house, but a little wager when I'm in Vegas in a couple of weeks makes sense.

Thanks Section 12, I stand corrected; I guess the 12-game limit goes into effect in 2011

Coach Rick Neuheisal Author Profile Page said:

for those that wonder where my money is going, I would just like to remind you gambling is strictly prohibited by the NCAA and certain former tattletale athletic directors.

However, if you want to know where a friend of mine, let's call him Nick Reuheisel, is putting his money, he says take the over on SC.

without jeremy bates, masoli and gerhart, this seems like a no-brainer. stanford had some good wins last year with toby. but they also lost to cal, oregon st, wake forest, and arizona. andrew luck can make some bad throws.

i think oregon will be shockingly bad without masoli. we've got to learn how to steal their signals like ohio state did.

When a school travels to Hawaii, the NCAA allows them to have 13 games. Again, this was an issue when the NCAA put a limit on SC adding games since they won't have a bowl game. But since this game was already scheduled and many fans already made travel plans, the NCAA let it go on.

A few days ago, one of you bozos challenged me and the other Robs too provide some of UCLA's glorious football history. I posted some great stuff, but someone said it was really just the history of Ohio State, with "UCLA" inserted in place of "Ohio State". Well, upon further inspecion, you may be right.

So here is some better stuf I found over at Gold's blog, about the history of UCLA. Taste it!

In 1992, Aikman set career highs in completions (302), passing yards (3,445) and touchdown passes (23), and led the Bruins to a team record 13 regular season victories and the 2nd best record in the Pac-10. The Bruins defeated the Huskies at home in the Division Playoffs and squared off against the Trojans in the Pac-10 Title Game, a matchup that featured the 2 best teams in the Pac-10. The Bruins won 30-20, with Aikman completing 2 game changing completions to send the Bruins to their 1st Super Bowl appearance since 1979. In Super Bowl XXVII against the Michigan Wolverines, Aikman led the Bruins to a blowout victory, 52–17.[3]

In 1993, UCLA finished 12–4, the best record in the Pac-10. In the playoffs, Aikman again guided UCLA to home playoff victory, this time over a young, upstart WSU Cougars squad led by QB Brett Favre, who was in his first full season as a starting QB. Aikman then shredded the Trojan secondary in the Pac-10 Title game 38-21. In Super Bowl XXVIII, Aikman was kept out of the endzone, but a combination of key turnovers by the Buckeyes’ offense and the running of Emmitt Smith helped lead to a 30-13 victory for the Bruins.

In 1994, UCLA won the Division playoff game against USC 38-9, but fell to the Huskies in the Pac-10 Championship game, 38-28. Aikman was battered and bruised all day long, yet showed the resiliance that earned the respect of fans, coaches, and players alike.

In 1995, Aikman passed for over 3,300 yards as the Bruins once again finished with the best record in the Pac-10. The Bruins hosted the Huskies in the Pac-10 Title Game and, for the third straight season, knocked the Huskies out of the playoffs to earn their 3rd Super Bowl appearance in the last four years. UCLA won Super Bowl XXX against the Florida Gators 27–17, with Aikman throwing 1 TD pass.

Right On, Rob. Troy Aikman to JJ Stokes was one of college football's all-time great pass and catch combinations.

My guess is Prince to Rosario will be the next passing combo etched into history as Coach Chow gets the Pistola offense firing.

And as you ponder your dreadful season, ask yourself if SUC is so great why did Cheat Carroll fail to recruit his own son Randall even though USC is paying their players and providing limo rides to school?

NDLarry--i checked out that link. it's about stuff that happened over 100 years ago, literally. question--will notre dame's campus be sold to pay off the church's debts for all of it's current lawsuits?

westwood rob--ucla won the super bowl? were you trying to be funny? it was horribly unfunny.

i worry about you two. Larry, are you taking your meds? let the possum go. the possum had to die.
