Did USC Actually Play Hawaii?
I'm starting to wonder based on some of these weekly national awards. Matt Barkley threw five incomplete passes but did not receive any votes for the Davey O'Brien quarterback of the week award. And wide receiver Ronald Johnson caught three TD passes and returned a punt 89 yards for a touchdown but was not one of nine players mentioned for the Paul Hornung award's most versatile performances of the week.

this from a man who voted texas as his pre-season #1.
To be fair, the game didn't start until 11 pm Eastern - and didn't end until 3 am the next day. So no, for the majority of the U.S. population, the game didn't happen.
Do eastern writers know football is played west of the Rockies?
When you add the bowl ban on top of the usual love for the SEC, I think USC and its players are going to be quietly black-listed from a lot of awards and "best of" lists for the next two years, unless USC absolutely dominates its competition.
@I DIg Go Go Girls
I sure hope so after the game the other night between Boise State and Virginia Tech.
Scott, I know we went through all the what ifs earlier in the year but, was Chris Peterson of Boise State ever considered for the job at SC?
I think Cafe 84 Pizza has it about right. Eastern writers, at least those in the NY metro area, do know about SC. In fact, when SC was ranked in the top five, the ABC affiliate here typically showed the SC vs. Pac-10 regional game instead of the Big East, ACC, or Big Ten regional game. The NY writers really don't have a dog in the race, so I think they tend to be more objective than the folks in the midwest or the south.
"Wolf the Apologist"? That's a new role. Careful, someone might mistake you for being a homer.
No way Wolf just wrote that.
they got no votes because they played a cream puff, the win actually hurt the trojans...try scheduling real teams like Kansas State, Houston, and the Longhorns...oh that's right they wanted to go 13-0 and want to be crowned the AP national champions.
@BruinRob: Kansas State and Houston are "powerhouses" now huh?
2009-10 K-State record: 6-6
2009-10 Houston recrod: 10-4
(against Southern Methodist, Northwestern State, Southern Miss, Tulsa, UCF, Memphis, Rice, etc)
REAL "POWERHOUSES" MoronRob.
But good job scheduling Texas--will they win by 40 or 50?
You make me feel smarter everyday. No, you're just extremely good at looking like a MORON!
