New USC coach Lane Kiffin makes his debut tonight against Hawaii and things are a lot different than when he accepted the job.
``If you told me there would be a new president and athletic director (before I took the job), I'd probably tell you, no, I wouldn't take it," Kiffin said. ``But if you told me the president would be Max Nikias and athletic director Pat Haden, I'd say yes in a second.''

Good morning, Trojans. I have logged on personally this morning to wish your team good luck. In fact, I hope USC beats Hawaii and wins its next several games. When your team makes its doomed journey northward for another humbling at the hands of Harbaugh, I want your 13-0 dreams to be alive and well, the better to be cruelly crushed by the Cardinal.
For what are dreams? As Pedro Calderón de la Barca wrote centuries ago, "...y los sueños, sueños son."

Kiffin seems to be doing a good job despite the difficult situation.
SW could you interview JK McKay on his support for Kiffin? (or not). How he views Carroll's legacy indifference to his Dad's?
Also is it impossible to interview Todd McNair? Why does he think the NCAA disbelieved him? Took Lake's word over his? Were there questions that should have been asked that would have clarified the lack of contact USC had with Lake? The NCAA justifies their sanctions by this so it is the crux of their appeal.
Ah, LATrojan08, perhaps you would not make such a bad father, as my own is currently busy spending my inheritance in Paris with a certain Whore Who Shall Remain Nameless.
As for you, Digger of Go Go Girls, I recall USC beginning its season with a third-rate state school just last year. There is a time and a place for everything, after all. Would you eat lobster in a movie theater? Would you pair oysters with a zinfandel? Not even a Bruin would be so uncouth.
