Quote Of The Day, Part II

``I just say he hasn't performed. He hasn't taken advantage of his opportunities. He's clearly been average. He hasn't been a guy who's really taken control and choked the opportunity that's been given to him, and obviously there's something missing there.''

My follow up question to Jon Gruden would be how much do you know about the situation, and how close are you to Matt to say he's had the actual opportunity?

Gruden is not close to the situation...he has not coached in almost 2 seasons...He like every other dumb ESPN reporter, feel like they have to add there two cents and talking points everyday to the situation..They never come up with a legitimate reason why Matt should not get the "Nod". The best thing for Matt is to be traded and move on, that way when cards go 6-10 they can't blame him.

You two, by your comments seem to think he has grounds for a grievance complaint through the players association...he doesn't! This is all about business, not personalities. Whisenhunt liking him or not is irrelevant, even if Leinart were the second coming of Farve and Whisenhunt wanted him gone, he would be gone!

I was just as impressed by what Matt did at SC as anyone, but Matt has not done anything outstanding while in the NFL...nothing! So, Grudens assessment is in fact quite on the mark, what does Gruden know? I would venture a lot more than you two.

The situation is simple, Whisenhunt is fed up with Leinart and shopping him, if no team bites because of Leinart's huge guaranteed salary, Whisenhunt will bench him and put him on waivers, meaning Leinart can negotiate with anyone he wants to and if the Cardinals have to pick up half or less of his salary it's better than paying the whole load, but make no mistake Leinart will no longer be on the roster.

What are they going to do for a QB, who knows, my guess is, teams are about to cut players to get down to the roster limit and some very good talent will be available at bargain prices.

T4: Maybe you should read twice before you post. I did not write that he should file a grievance with the PA. I like other USC Fans feel that Matt has not had a fair opportunity in AZ.

To suggest that Whisenhunt is fed up with Matt is pathetic he isn't out there hanging dogs(Mike Vick), he's not throwing 3 and 4 picks a game(Jay Cutler), and he's definitely not looking to the owner for sympathy(Vince Young).

John Gruden may have the experience in being a coach, but just like us, he is watching the game from the sideline. Why you ask? Hmmmmm.....because he couldn’t cut it as a coach, he was a Screamer. and people tune Screamers Out.

Whisenhunt not liking Matt is relevant if you really watch football you would understand that most new coaches would like there own guy. Matt Leinart was not drafted by Whisenhunt, he was drafted by Dennis Green. By Anquan Boldin's own mouth he suggested there were issues.

If Matt is not a QB in NFL that’s fine but I would like a full year to assets him, and for you to suggest that the Cards could pick up a QB as rosters are being revised is ridiculous. There is neither Brett Farve nor a D. McNabb hanging out there.

Has anyone ever seen Matt Leinart and the Pillsbury Doughboy in the same room (or hot tub) at the same time?

Sad, pathetic former star coach Gruden has become washed up, has been, talking head idiot, TV Gruden. What a pitiful fall from stardom.
