USC 14, Hawaii 3

It's obvious defense is not going to be Hawaii's forte tonight as the Trojans go downfield with Marc Tyler (8-58) doing a lot of the work. Matt Barkley throws 1-yard TD pass to Ronald Johnson and then finds Johnson again on a conventional 2-point play.

Interesting first half fact #1... that each and every Hawaii drive that resulted in scoring points was kept alive by a Trojan penalty!

Interesting first half fact #2.. Starling and Robey are in way over their heads and are killing us thus far!

Interesting first half fact #3... Bob Davie sucks even more this year than he has in all previous years!

All good points. Fact #1 is giving me bad flashbacks of last year. Fact #2 we just have to hope that the freshman picks up his game. I really don't want to hear any more this year about Trojans being good "for a freshman." Robert Woods was good tonight, period. And what was up with that "Davie Jones Locker" gimmick? Lame.

About Inside USC

Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in antagonizing the "Internet geeks."
