USC-Minnesota Report Grades
Here is the report card from the Minnesota game.
RESULT: No. 18 USC 32, Minnesota 21
RECORD: 3-0
WEEK 3 GPA: C+
QUARTERBACK
The new and improved Matt Barkley is forcing passes again and resembles the 2009 model.
C
RUNNING BACKS
How many times does Allen Bradford need to have a breakout game (131 yards) before he becomes a starter?[PE
A-
WIDE RECEIVERS
Ronald Johnson overcame illness to catch a long touchdown pass while TE Rhett Ellison quietly emerged.
B-
OFFENSIVE LINE
The second-half impression of Tailback U. started with these guys up front.
B
DEFENSIVE LINE
Finally lived up to hype as Minnesota rushed for 83 yards. OK, it was only Minnesota.
B+
LINEBACKERS
Unlike the first two games, there were not a lot of missed tackles. But again, it was Minnesota.
C+
DEFENSIVE BACKS
Freshman cornerback Nickell Robey is getting picked on by opponents. Maybe because he is 5-7.
C+
SPECIAL TEAMS
Robert Woods' 97-yard kickoff return was the play of the game. But what compels USC to go for two points so much?
C-
COACHING
Lane Kiffin makes a mockery of when to kick extra points. And he is 0-3 against the spread.
D+

i heard kiffin gave wolfie an F for being too negative
So far, you've given the coaching a D+, D-, and D+.
Nice hire Garrett aka Little Napoleon.
Even in Pete's hey day when he was rolling over opponents, Wolf rarely gave him a coaching grade above a "C" so a D+ is not as bad as you think.
Yeah a little tough love I see. And who would you give A's to wolfie? Would that be the mighty Longhorns of Tejas? Your pessimism is strictly B&^* S^%$
