Midseason All-Conference
The football awards scene is so out of control that Phil Steele now gives out midseason Pac-10 awards. Ronald Johnson, Butch Lewis and Tyron Smith made the first-team offense. So did Robert Woods as a kick returner (but not as a WR?). T.J. McDonald made the first-team defense.
Matt Barkley and Kris O'Dowd made the second team along with Jurrell Casey. Devon Kennard and Allen Bradford made the third team.

Wolf is it just a detail that you forgot to mention that SC had more guys(13) on the 3 teams than any other school ?
@rocco, I counted 10 players where are the other three?
This makes no sense. Jurrell Casey is a definite first team defensive tackle while McDonald is not a first teamer even with his three Ints. Woods has to be rated ahead of Ronald Johnson at this stage of the season. Good to see Butch Lewis get the recognition finally. It would seem that Shareece Wright would make at least the third team if not higher.
Joe "the Toe" Houston who is the defending Pac10 Special Teams player of the week didn't make this team??
W!!!
Phil Steele obviously hasn't been watching any games.
I have no problem with any of the members of the offense making these lists, but Jurrell Casey is the only one on defense who should've sniffed a mention. T.J. McDonald and Devon Kennard have been horrendous this season, T.J.'s INT's notwithstanding. Those two have been out of position more than a little league batting lineup. In all honesty, Kennard shouldn't even be playing LB. His read and react skills are NIL; and T.J.'s aren't much better.
