It's important to point out that Sc at least has a past on which to lean when times get tough. An appropriate observation in rebutting trash talk from bruin fans whose team has been a bottom dweller and a huge underachiever in one of the worst D1 conferences for the better part of a dozen years.

And why do bruin fans want to avoid the past? Well, let's see. For starters, the greatest "bruin football tradition" (an oxymoron of the same proportions as "Usc basketball") is skipping out on a spring practice. Wow! Yes, yes... we know... you are forward looking. Ready to seize the future and all the false promises that go along with it to Westwood. No past and definitely no present for poor old Southern Branch... Keep drinking the Ricky brand of Cool-aid and everything will be okay. You'll eke out a winning season one of these decades.

Now that you and your other handle have used it for a few days, what exactly does your "who's who" line mean? There's no doubt that SC has owned LA for the better part of the last decade. There's also no question that SC is at the early stages of a hard, hard fall. Who is who in LA?

In watching old man Kiffin coach the SC D, he just seems too soft and grandfatherly and he's so old, don't think players can relate to him as they did to Ken Norton Jr. who was a great coach for SC. Big mistake letting Norton go. Don't think the old man has it in him anymore. "once the defense get's fixed" don't see that happening in a week. Get ready to watch an angry Stanford team put up some big numbers.

Obviously the BIG problem at SC was the reliance on rating recruits by the services. This coupled with poor coaching made the current inhabitant of Heritage Hall less than impressive. PC forgot that the real test was on the field....

What does that mean? It means contrary to what you've claimed about UCLA's "tough schedule," Texas, Houston, and K-State were a bit overrated.
And that the team that beat Washington (who beat USC) just destroyed K-State (who beat UCLA). If that was too confusing for you, I'm talking about Nebraska.
That just made USC's out-of-conference schedule a little tougher than UCLA's (seeing as Houston and Texas are both unranked). Or at least even.
