The Trojan's defense should be nicknamed Swiss Cheese Defense--too many holes.
What do you expect him to say or do? Manufacture new players?
Sure, what bull$h!t Blunder Boy. Try starting with the D Coordinator. Laughable. Hell, start tackeling drills. We are losing anyway. So we play with the scout team, what's the difference? A loss is a loss. No more excuses!
USC has been known as Linebacker U, or at least Linebacker U West for many years. It is now the weakest part of this team for the past 2 seasons. This is not Kiffin's fault....as Brainiac stated above, What do you expect him to say or do..manufacture New Players? This is what happens when you recruit 10 "Five Star" Tailbacks that get's you on the Cover of Sports Illustrated.....Football is still won in the O-Line and on Defense and Pete Carroll somehow lost sight of that fact toward the end.
If anyone really needs evidence as to the worthlessness of recruiting rankings, Gallippo was a "five-star" and Smith and Morgan were "four-star" prospects.
The answer I want to hear:
"My father is being relieved of his duties effective immediately."
No new revelations after last night's defensive debacle. Save for Galippo's aggressiveness, the backers as a group are irrelevant. The secondary is lost, perhaps because of youth and inexperience. Shouts to dump the famed Tampa 2 may be premature, as our defense wasn't any good last year either. It's not the scheme; it's the personnel.

He was not aggressive. The QB was stood up and hanging out to dry and Chris just gave him a shoe shine. He should have been "jacked" and limping off the field and at minimum we should have got a fumble. This was a bad call some "home cookin". A fumble and recovery by USC could have caused Kiffin to throw the flag for a review...MAYBE!!!! Then they would have review to see if the whistle was blown.
In Chris's defense his lack of aggressiveness is due to a team policy in practice to mitigate injuries. We will have to get use to not seeing those vicious highlight hits this year.
Just two game ending field goals away from a 6 - 0 start. This is how it rolls sometimes.
The offense is on top of it's game. The defense is adjusting and struggling with inexperience. And to top it all off the Trojans are adjusting to change with a new coaching staff, defection of players to other schools, having to deal with the NCAA crap and do not forget the negative press they continue to receive. It will all come around in time.
The Trojans will survive another day to Fight ON!
Casey continues to be the 1 constant force in SC's front 4. Neither Armstead nor Harris nor Fangupo appears to be the answer at the other T spot, but Harris has probably been the best of the 3. With W. Horton out & Perry limited Kiffin should be playing the backups (it couldn't be any worse). Perry needs to heal or it could be worse. Armstead should continue to start on the strong side & Greene, Boyd & Thomas should be rotated liberally on the weakside until 1 emerges or Horton or Perry is healthy enough to play near full speed.
Kennard is not the answer at MLB. I know thye want speed at that position but their going to have to recruit it. Galippo is a good MLB & could serve SC very well there over the next 2 years. Galippo needs a backup but Kennard is not the right guy. Kennard belongs at SLB. Let Morgan back him up (Morgan would committ fewer penalties on the bench). Move Cumming over to back up Galippo. I know that doesn't sound terrific, but you've got to go with what you've got & Cumming is the only other LB big enough to play inside. M. Smith & S. Horton are actually pretty OK at WLB.
The DBs, even S. Wright, are just inexperienced. Unfortunately, their inexperience is magnified by the banged up DL's inability to pressure the QB & the poor LB play. Wright & McDonald are pretty good. Starling & Jones will get better with good coaching. None of the other CBs has really distinguished himself so I don't know what to do there.
M. Kiffin & Orgeron need to simplify the schemes, work on tackleling & assignments.
