Well, I hope if he needed to vommit, he directed towards the defense.
Fire Monte Kiffin.
This coaching staff sucks from the head on down, fire them all, name Orgegon head coach and move on.
I was at the game and it was actually fun - wish we'd won.
Offense is improving, although the lack of yards from the Running Backs really hurt. Play calling has improved, as has MB decision making. The wildcat is a good addition, but its still rough - Baxter has throw from it more. I get the 2 pt formation now after seeing it in person and like MM making the on the field call as to which way to go - but they need to move faster in getting it executed. Bottom line - I think the Offense has bought in to Lane Kiffin's approach.
Defense reeks. The confusion in the LBs and Secondary is obvious. You could sense their frustration. Bottom line - I think the Defense has no clue about Monte Kiffin's approach and the Tampa 2.
TC - Barkley is too much of a man to point fingers. We'll leave that to Lane Kiffin.
JDStar'
The Tampa 2 defense basically "Cover 2" in USC case its "Cover Who". I agree 100% with your statement "the Defense has no clue about Monte Kiffin's approach and the Tampa 2."
Sick? Yep, that's how I feel after watching our defense. The unit is horrible, pathetic, a group so lost in space, so undisciplined, it leaves you speechless. How many more times do we have to see receivers run across the field alone and without a defender in sight? It is sickening.
Is Monte too old-fashioned to run modern defenses?
Quite the contrary! I thought the defense looked great. Whoever is in charge of the uniforms did an excellent job. The unis were very crisp, and the white jerseys contrasted nicley against the other colors. It made our defense appear like a very cohesive unit.
Whoever is in charge of the uniforms deserves the entire $5 million that the Kiffin family is getting.
Barks should feel sick after two great offensive performances ended with loses. We are so close. Don't worry, we are still winning the arrogance battle. Once these BS pass interference calls stop going against us, we will win..
What a bunch of babies we are! The mood swings deserve therapy and medication -- we either think we should win every game, or we have the worst defense in America.
If all you genius fans want to point to a serious problem, why don't you direct your anger at quitters like Everson Griffen and Malik Jackson? Or a user like T'eo? Or a borderline illiterate like Burficht? Or the bad luck of Jarvis Jones and Telfort?
If we had those players, we'd be a lot better.
Of course I'm critical of Starling and Shane Horton and Morgan and Kennard and Robey ... but that's life.
Like any business cycle we're facing a downturn of bad luck, bad character, bad circumstance, bad timing and, yes, some bad play on the field.
The facts are obvious: We have young players, a new system and some key injuries. Grow up.
I was at the game. Over and over the ends lost contain. Coaching and discipline can correct this. It's troubling how wide open receivers were many times. Luck made some great throws. But often there wasn't a defender with 10 yards. Also, what happened to the running game? Best defense might be to keep the Stanford O off the field. Seems like SC totally gave up on the running game early on.
hiya trOJies!!!

Thanks for that enlightening post, Heifer. Happy 12th birthday.
@CalGirl, show them trOJies that the win over the Mighty UCLA Bruins was no fluke!! =)
There were plays where Stanford had 8 in the box and effectively doubled-up on RoJo. Barkley read it all night and found Woods wide open. If they don't have 8 in the box, those 3 yard runs start going for 8 and 9, like Bradford's first down to the 3.
And how about Havili? Jim Harbaugh ought to be sending romantic poetry to him. Now there is a football player!!!
@DT-89: SC does have one of the worst Ds in the nation, #100 out of 120 in total offensive yards allowed, to be exact.
@BoscoH: You're exactly right in your first point about the run. The Trojans may have only gained just over 100 yards, but SU was so focused on stopping the run & Johnson, Woods was able to hurt them. Thus, the running game did it's job. (On your other point, don't forget Havili's fumble hurt SC.)
@NJ Trojan: Yeah, I totally forgot about Havili's fumble? But still on that pass from Tyler, he sold himself completely out to almost make the catch, then came back the next play for a critical catch and run for first down.
