Woods Quote
``Tonight was a great day for us. Matt and I were really connecting. Stanford is a great team. To score three touchdowns for the Trojans tonight was really a great feeling. Stanford was leaving me uncovered at times and Matt was looking for me.''
-- USC freshman Robert Woods, who caught 12 passes for 224 yards

Really? A great day when SC loses?
Hey Woods. You played great, but there's nothing "great" about losing. Get a clue with your comments.
He's a freshman who lit it up. Of course he thinks it's great. He earned it, so let him enjoy it. But, we still lost.
R.J. Soward, Tempe, 1996.
Same bitter taste in the mouth, and it's not the scotch.
Hey media, I'm fine with letting the freshman be seen, but not heard.
I agree 110 percent with Trojan Conquest and 113 Year Trojan...Woods' postgame press conference was terribly unimpressive. You'd think the team had just beaten UCLA with his tone. This quote only tells half the story, have to see the way he was glowing on TV to get full appreciation.
Somebody needs to show him film of Mike Williams at Kansas State in 2002. The week after torching Auburn he got his you know what handed to him and I heard that upperclassmen were pleased that it managed to shut that yap for the time being. I may be mistaken but I think it's documented that D Jarrett also was force-fed humble pie after one of his first great outings.
Hopefully Woods avoids that fate next week. I loved Keyshawn but would rather see more Colbert types and less divas at receiver. Woods isn't remotely close to being a "diva" yet but he also has looong way to go to even get in the same conversation as R Jay Soward.
All,
I believe there is a severe, significant, and unconscious message in the young receiver’s honest, yet naive response. This message is somewhat subliminal and we may be missing. Hopefully, I am wrong, but I don't think so.
Basically, this kid is exhibiting learned behavior from the HC/OC who is operating as if there are two(2)separate and distint USC football teams. The OC's team and his Daddy's team. Ergo, the young receivers elated response "His team (the offense won) and he contributed greatly...Fight ON! I have come to this conclusion by the overwhelming lack of responses, from, Kiffin, when questioned about Defensive issues. The sum of his responses to these issues are "He does not have a clue".
Hey jerks. Ro woods is a really nice really classy guy. Let him have some shine. He deserves it and we need to take bright spots from the game. The offense is rolling right now and we gotta feel good about that. Cal aint gonna hang 35 on us, but we sure are gonna hang 40 on them!! Stop crying SC, our D isn't good this year, so deal with it. Our only chance is to outscore fools
