Amazing what $200K will buy you these days.
I'd rather have a 997 Porsche Turbo S and the change...
What? You mean Reggie wasn't the only kid to receive improper benefits? $200k for Cam Newton? I can't believe it....
In all seriousness, Nick Saban started this kind of thing back when he was with LSU. I have friends who are members of the football programs in the SEC schools who have first hand information.
Boosters donate money to the local churches. The priest takes a small cut. Then the church donates the rest of the money to the recruit's family (i.e. grandparents, step-dad, etc). They deem the family as a "needy family" and they "help" them out. Nobody can govern the churches and tell them what to do. They are free to do as they please. Easiest way to pay the recruits without actually giving it to them in a brown bag.
In Cam Newton's case, his dad is a big part of the church that received the money! lol.... ohhhh the NCAA....
Looks like Tennessee was in the bidding mix as well... Any guess as to who was coaching at the time? HAHA! CHEAT ON! Just goes to show who pays people off in this town!
And when it's all said and done, Luck will be the only one mentioned with a successful pro career.
Cam Newton = Vince Young with less passing ability
Kellen Moore = Future insurance salesman
LaMichael James = Future ward of the state
Terrelle Pryor = might pan out if he switches to tight end
What games are these Heisman voters watching?
