Baxter Held Out Over Possible Agent Contact
USC tailback Dillon Baxter did not make the trip to Oregon State because of possible contact with an agent. Here's Lane Kiffin:
``Yesterday as he was traveling across campus, he was given a ride in a golf cart by a couple students, later we found out that one of these students may be agent. We take these things very serious. We talked to Dillon. Dillon didn't know that. But we've turned it into the NCAA.''

This is retarded. Really? Getting a ride on campus in a golf cart with other students is a bad thing? Freaken retarded. What's next! I feel for DB in this one.
TSA-level security is needed! Implement it now. Lockdown campus! Thanks NCAA! USC's behavior seems to be quite different from Auburn's, huh? Perhaps there are different rules for SEC schools? Or, Miami and the Big East schools, the home of COI Chair Paul Dee?
Who's actually more corrupt - Auburn boosters or the NCAA executives?
And Jake Locker cashed a $ 150,000 check from the Angels with no problem.........
To Sec 12. College football players can be sign pro contracts in a different sport, it does not affect their eligibility. Anthony Davis also had a pro contract in baseball I believe.
To DFW, what does this have to do with Cam Newton and Auburn? It's just poor administration by USC, although I give credit to Kiffin for taking immediate action.
I have respect for Kiffin, he's matured an awful lot since coming to USC.
Poor administration from USC? How on earth do you justify that, BW? Are they supposed to ID check and verify any and every person whose vehicle Dillon enters all year? Really? He rides to McD's to get fries and a shake with his roomie, and USC must stop and search? Are you out of your Bruin mind, bro?
Sorry, DFW. I have to side with BruWin on this one. I think he is referring to the poor administration of the previous athletic department management. You have to admit because of all of that USC is in sanctions. Like it or not, that's reality.
At DFW, all I'm saying is that it is too much of a coincidence that one of the two students might possibly be an agent. It's probably nothing, but nevertheless USC supposedly had locked the gates to any potential agent, so how this guy was able to contact Baxter does show somewhat a lack of "control" IMO. Of course if that guy really is a student, than I'm sure it's something that will just go away quickly. Apparently Haden and Kiffin thought it to be a little more serious though, kudos to Kiffin for taking action.
Seriously? How the f*ck do you stop someone from walking up to a player on campus? Or should I say drive up in your golf cart. Why the f*ck do students have golf carts?
dead on, BruWin...as fully documented previously many times, the Cadre is totally behind Kiff!! but, one does have to give pause to wonder about the phantom "illness" that Kiff reported Baxter had...
do i sniff a cover up???? oh, dear!!
lame has a history of not understanding violations..Some of his actions last year, resulted in embarrassing situations for him and his former univ. I can only imagine how this incident and others would have been handled under Carroll, Garrett & Floyd LTD. You make your bed, you sleep in it. I'm not a Lawyer...but I've got a "acquaintance" who is. Unfortunately, he can't comment right now...he's a little busy doing the LAUNDRY AGAIN! (if you catch my drift)..
2 losses in the next 3 games
or
3 for 3 ?
Fright on Trogan!
I know you're not saying fright on because you think were scared of loosing to ucla right?
To BruWin: I understand the official NCAA Locker rule. What makes no logical sense is the guy hasn't played baseball for a couple of years and has not performed 1 hour of service for the Angels. How does this differ from an athlete receiving pay from an auto dealer where he/she never performed any work? What if the Angels owner is a UW alumus? Nice way to funnel money in.
Sounds like the enhanced pat-down rules at the airport on granny and the 3 year old.
All the other players in the program manage to stay away from this kind of silly trouble. I'm suspicious about Baxter. He is at the very least high maintenance, in a bad way. Coach Sunshine does well to keep him on a short leash.
