I joked with Lane Kiffin last night that the big prize of the season would be whether USC's pass defense (114th) or UCLA's pass offense (116th) would finish ranked higher this season. Kiffin asked me if that was my idea for a bowl game.
I told it was and my prize would have the lower-ranked coach fired. He smiled so it's good to see he still has a sense of humor.
He was probably thinking about all of the ways he could Wolf's but when he cracked that smile.
I bet Wolf and Kiffen were joking around while they hung out at the Jet Strip.

What I meant to say was, "He was probably thinking about all of the ways he could kick Wolf's butt when he cracked that smile."
The mistake was due to an editing error.
UCLA has a new gunslinger in charge - this will be no contest.
He was smiling to humor Wolf. Thinking about how amazing it is that Wolf can always be so transparently snarky.

For a mediocre, low-level sportswriter, Wolf sure is arrogant and hubristic. Why, is anyone's guess. People suffer idiots like Wolf because they must. He actually thinks a man like LK is laughing with him.
Kiffin was indeed probably secretly thinking a lot of things as he cracked a smile -- most of them involving Wolf in pain.
Of course Lane laughed. It's his Dad versus Norm Chow, right?
