Kiffin Surprised

| | Comments (1) |

Lane Kiffin was surprised Arizona State coach Dennis Erickson did not go for 2 points after the Sun Devils took a 33-29 lead on a touchdown.
``I was,'' Kiffin said. ``Our chart says go for it. It kind of looks on the sidelines like they were thinking about it.''

As addressed elsewhere, the smart play is to go for one here.

I am disappointed that Kiffin's book says to go for two. Maybe it's the same book that has Barkley throwing late over the middle when it's first down at the ten.

This game reminded me of the Texas/Oklahoma game earlier this year. Each team tried to give the game away but the other team kept giving it right back.

If I were Lane Kiffin, I would not include this game on my resume tape. Just. Plain. Ugly.

(but they did win and I breathed a huge sigh of relief when ASU's final horrible drive ended on a pick)
