Who is Norm Chad? Is he one of those old dudes who was relevant in the 80's like Lupica and Albom?
If anything, my guess is his last name works against him. He was an accomplished recruiting coordinator and offensive coordinator that earned a shot at a head coaching position. Unfortunately for him, he took the job with the craziest owner in all of professional sports and even though he was proven right regarding JaMarcus Russell, it cost him his job. He landed the job at Tennessee and by most measurements, he improved the program.
Now, I'll admit, I was surprised that Lane made the move to SC after one year at UT, but, he wasn't exactly making friends down there (a lot of that was truly self-inflicted). And as a Californian that relocated to Tennessee for a bit, the South isn't exactly welcoming to "Yankees" and Californians.
So, here we are at SC, Lane inherited a broken recruiting system, NCAA sanctions and player transfers without penalty and while it hasn't been great (most notably UW and OSU), it's been OK. And while I don't LOVE everything Kiffin has accomplished, I don't think he deserves the scorn and ridicule he receives.
I mean, how is Lane coaching enemy number one but Bobby Petrino, noted quitter and promotion shopper, just fine. Petrino walked out on the Falcons, interviewed with Auburn when Tubs still had the job there and left Louisville right after signing a contract extension. Yet receives not even half the hatred and scorn Kiffin does. I think if Lane's last name was Jones, Johnson or whatever else he wouldn't receive nearly what he gets in national dislike.
So we can call him Coach Sunshine or Coach Kato?

But seeing as how you're a bruin troll you probably don't know much about working or climbing the ladder. Just think, end of the month is almost here and your government check might already be in the mail, loser.
