Quick Thought

Does anyone even remember that Robert Woods practiced at cornerback the week of the Cal game? Seems like it was intended as something to make an opposing coach worry about and nothing more now.

Probably because he was injured/sick during the practice periods between the games since the Cal game and rarely even saw the practice field.

SC could use him at corner since the other corners suck.

I wouldn't put it past Lane Kiffin. However, I don't think the thought of Woods at cornerback kept the opposing offensive coordinator up at night.

While this is just speculation, there are several other potential reasons for Woods' practice time at cornerback. Woods' cornerback play during practice could have revealed he needs a lot more work to be game-ready in the secondary. Also, it could have been a ploy by Kiffin to push his existing secondary. After all, when your job is on the line, competitive juices get flowing.
