Ticket Talk
We mentioned yesterday that USC still has not even sold out its tickets for the UCLA game at the Rose Bowl.
And then there is Stanford. The Cardinal drew only 43,506 to last week's game against Arizona. The Cardinal have not even sold out its Cal game tickets, humorously referred to as ``Big Game,'' by Bay Area fans.
This week, Stanford told fans who placed a deposit on season tickets for next year the, ``guaranteed ability to purchase 2010 bowl game tickets for whichever bowl game Stanford is selected to participate.''

Uh Bald One, have you seen the economy?
FROM THE DESK OF RALPH VON ALBERTSON, ESQ.:
Mr. Wolf, I do not like your comments regarding my beloved Stanford.
The likes of you may not be aware of this, but, upon graduation, the young men and women of Stanford disperse to positions of power, influence, and wealth-accumulation throughout the globe, and many do not have time to set aside the burden of running the world in order to attend football games.
I am sure that the UCLA fans reading this blog can sympathize, as they too face difficulties in returning to Pasadena to attend games, scattered as the Bruin alumni are at various Burger Kings and Del Tacos across the desert Southwest.
Best regards,
Ralph Von Albertson, Esq., Stanford '95, '99

Stanford may very well be left out of the BCS picture even with just one loss. and they have as good or better resume than any of the other one-loss teams - save maybe LSU. what you mention here will play a big part of that - bowl committees know which teams fanbases travels.
...and this is one of the main reasons ladies and gentlemen that the conference gets no respect.
I've got to think this will be a factor why Harbaugh ends up leaving.
We had tickets two years ago to the USC game at the Rose Bowl. When UCLA won, the young UCLA fans were verbally and physically abusive to anyone wearing USC colors -- young or old. We saw a large female UCLA student walk against the crowd knocking down anyone with USC colors who didn't get out of her way. We saw a guy go to a USC girl standing alone waiting for friends and knock her stuffed Traveler onto the ground and then yell something in her face. This stuff was way out of line.
We have no desire to go back to the Rose Bowl anytime soon. I hope we beat them by 50.
@tomslyck, now you know how we Bruin fans feel when we have to travel to South Central, not only your drunken, obnoxious, ghetto, thug, gangster fans, but we also have to be ducking all day from stray bullets from the local gang members shooting at each other during our tailgate parties...and worse than that, when arriving late in the morning at the Coliseum, we have no choice but to park in the middle of the USC campus...that is absurd.
