USC QB Matt Barkley said his ankle was not a factor tonight, including his interceptions. But Lane Kiffin said he could not call plays outside the pocket because of the injury.
``When I was in the heat of things, I was 100 percent,'' Barkley said. ``On the sideline, it was hurting.''
Barkley said UCLA made several attempts to hit his ankle.
``You could tell they were trying to get it,'' he said.

Listen everyone... we are seeing a reincarnation of Carsen Palmer! He was a boy wonder coming out of high school, got a big break playing as a freshman and his performance as a sophomore and team play was less than anticipated. He has gone through two head coaches and might even experience a 3rd offensive coordinator in 3-years (if the AD feels inclined). i'd be careful of carson copmparisons. barkley has the arm, temperament and leadership abilities to be a very good college QB. but he doesn't have the feet, mobility or height to be another carson.

but if he stays two more years he certainly could be a very good QB - even a heisman contender.
