Scott,
Where the heck did Tony Burnett come from? He was a serious playmaker during the ND game. Does he have a shot at a scholarship and playing time next season? How much eligibility does he have left?
A: He was a track team member who wanted to try out for the football team. Nobody, including Lane Kiffin, expected him to make the impact he did. He had 10 tackles against Notre Dame and did a nice job in the UCLA game.
I just heard this week he has two years of eligibility left. I suspect he will be a scholarship candidate if USC has any left after giving out its midyear scholarships.

Coach O actually saw Burnett walking thru Heritage Hall and convinced him to ask the track coach for permission to try out for the football team. When I was watching special teams play earlier in the season I was wondering who #34 was. He was always around the ball making plays. It really didn't surprise me Burnett had 10 tackles at ND and 9 at UCLA. He's a great story. Can't help rooting for him. Follow him on twiter @nocutz
Burnett reminds me of Lester (the molester)Hayes, the once Raider, shut down corner, and run stopper. who also wore #34.
QUESTION: If Burnett is on the track team, wouldn't he have a track scholarship? And if he has a track scholarship, this shouldn't count against the FB scholies, yes, no, maybe, perhaps???
I believe he was a walk on for track
If you play football, it counts as a football scholarship no matter what other sports you play
Lester Hayes wore #37.
