Question For Kiffin

| | Comments (11) |

I asked Lane Kiffin a simple question after the game: Did he regret not playing Allen Bradford much the previous three games after his 212 yards rushing and 47 yards receiving against UCLA?
``I don't know if regret is the right word . . . a lot of it had to do with what was going on upfront,'' Kiffin said.

Unless the poor blocking had something personal to do with Marc Tyler, putting Bradford in there wasn't going to make a difference. Either back has to get through the hole first. Notre Dame loaded up the box and stuffed the run. We weren't winning the line of scrimmage.

And did you compliment him for pulling Bradford from the lineup when he fumbled on three or four of seven carries in the middle of the season? I didn't think so.

Congratulations to you USC fans on your big victory over UCLA! Your 8-5 record is very respectable, even though the loss of 30 scholarships has not yet even occurred and you only losses due to sanctions this year was the loss of Henderson, a back-up defensive end and a back-up fullback. Indeed, even a 6-6 record the next two or three years would be highly commendable, given only 15 scholarships each year and the loss of your best back, your best two running backs, your best receiver, your best two offensive linemen, the best back-up quarterback in the conference, your best defensive lineman (yes, Casey is moving on), your most productive two linebackers and your best defnsive back. I am certain that Coach Kiffin will continue to do a fine job so please get off his back and, as loyal Trojans for life, give him the support he needs and let's just forget about seeking a new coach, especially from the Pac-12 Northern Division. As your outstanding AD has said, Lane Kiffin will be USC's head coach for a long time. Enjoy.

S91, you have a huge mouth as your program has been worth a $h!t only one or two times in the HISTORY of college football. You enjoy, as Coach D!ckhead leaves for Michigan or the NFL Stanford will again be in the sh!tt@r.

``I don't know if regret is the wrong word" I think you mean right instead of wrong. Embarrassing...

Scott, you are football genius.

My, my, I really did not expect that it would be so easy to get under a cretin's skin. Don't worry USC fans. None of us consider NOBS's eloquence, extensive vocabulary and class to be representative of a USC education.

91, your comments are offensive and if you are late to work one more time, I'm going to have to fire you. As you've found out, eggheads don't always make the most money.

Scott Wolf does ask good questions, but not always the ones that tell the bigger story. It is obvious to most, Lane Kiffin is a better offensive coordinator & play calling in his own mind than what the results show. May be what his father thinks too. What Scott should have asked, "Lane, if in your end of year review the AD wants you to bring in an offensive coordinator/play caller (and for that matter, another defensive coordinator), what will your response be?" These are the type of questions I wish were asked by sports writers.

Stanturd91,

Funny that you would say that a 6-6 record would be highly commendable given all the personnel that you anticipate would be leaving USC. As a matter of fact, I figured a 1-11 record for Stanford would be highly commendable once you lose Harbaugh, Vic Fangio, Andrew Luck, Owen Marecic, and approx. 60% of your starters to graduation or the draft after this year's Orange Bowl. Next season, your team is going to be a shell of its former self and is heading for one heck of a nosedive. Enjoy.
