That's Where He Learned It
Fresno State, Lane Kiffin's alma mater, went for 2 points tonight with an eight-point lead and failed to make it, giving Illinois a chance to tie the game with one possession. Illinois eventually scored but failed on its 2-point play in the fourth quarter.
UPDATED: Fresno State held on for a 25-23 victory. At least Pat Hill went 8-4. Better than 7-5.

If you're going to mention the game, at least GET THE FACTS STRAIGHT. They went for 2 because they were down 23-25.
Just for the record, there is a chance both teams end up 8-5. I have nothing against Fresno State, but I can't stand Wolf's smug digs at 'SC.
This is a comparison of apples to oranges. Different schools with far different schedules. The posts this week have been weighed and found wanting. Posts about random alumni (unnamed of course) who are dissatisfied with the season; posts about one unnamed player who doesn't care about this coming game. Rather than giving us solid information about the happenings at USC we are left with useless information and petty swipes at Pete Carroll and Lane Kiffin.
Yeah, because the WAC is as tough as the Pac 10. Come on Wolf.
Good god you are such a whiny biyatch
Wolf - which season defining Fresno State win impressed you more: Cal Poly or Utah State? The common opponent Hawaii smoked FSU in their own stadium 49-27. Get real, man.
I think Wolf's point is, Ron Zook will be available shortly, if USC is interested.
AMETEUR BEAT WRITER.
More pathetic crap from Wolf. How'd that Texas #1 work out for you?
LBC, Scooter is right here (hard to believe, I know). Illinois went for two when they were down 25-23, but just minutes earlier, Pat Hill went for two when he was up 25-17. Apparently, he thought going up by ten was more important than making sure he was up two scores.
That call was pure foolishness, but Pat Hill is not known for being a brilliant tactician. He also sat on the ball when the Bulldogs got it at their own 32 yard line with 50-something seconds left in the half.
Pat Hill isn't smart enough to know that 8+1=9 (which also happens to be two scores)
