I wonder if the NCAA would have considered Sidney a "high profile" athlete, had he enrolled at USC? For that matter, I wonder if the NCAA considers T. Pryor and his homies "high profile" as well...apparently not, because OSU gets a slap on the wrist even though they have a lack of institutional control, whereby their players think it's ok to sell the gear they get from bowl games. Hypocrisy at it's finest!

Guess Garrett was right on that one. In hindsight I can't believe that Coach Floyd tried to go over his head to get his hands on this Sidney kid.

This kid's actions would have turned what was already a disastrous landslide to the level of falling off into the ocean. We'd probably be in Division II athletics right now.

It's looking more and more that the NCAA had hidden issues with SC. Seeing the love taps that Ohio State, UNC, and Georgia got compared to the hammer that was the SC penalty is informative. I can't say that my opinion of the NCAA is less, but it is more defined.

My question about the Ohio State "penalty" is, which former Buckeye had a hand in deciding the punishment for Pryor & Co.? Read Steve Bisheff's blog on this matter - the NCAA has lost all credibility with the handling of the Ohio State and Auburn messes. Little wonder the Notre Dame influence played a part in handing out penalties to USC over the Reggie Bush fiasco.
