UnSuper Memory

The Super Bowl always seems to resurrect a character from USC's past and tonight was no different, as former USC assistant coach Shawn Slocum got plenty of air time as the Packers' special teams coach.
Slocum was an assistant at USC under Paul Hackett. And then he served an unmemorable season at Ole Miss under Ed Orgeron that his career apparently survived.

Before returning to his alma mater, Slocum spent two seasons (1998-99) with the University of Southern California as the special teams coordinator and linebackers coach. During his tenure, Slocum worked with future NFL players Chris Claiborne, David Gibson, Marcus Steele and Zeke Moreno. In 1998, Claiborne earned both All-America recognition and the Butkus Award as the nation’s top linebacker in leading the Trojans to the Sun Bowl.

And look who is asst is: none other than one Chad Morton...hmmmm....

That being said, the Packers' special teams unit this season was subpar.

The rah-rahs love to bash Hackett and nuzzle up and suckle on Petes peter. They always seem to forget it was Hackett, NOT CARROLL, who brought in Carson, Troy and Ed O! Yeah, Hackett was a terrible head coach. But Petes last team was no better with much better talent.
