USC forward Nikola Vucevic was named Pac-10 player of the week. Vuvevic scored 45 points and grabbed 22 rebounds in victories over Arizona and Arizona State. It was his first player of the week award.

i don't watch much college basketball except about half of the USC conf games - the ones that are on TV -and the occasional non-USC conference game until postseason tourneys start.
is Vucevic a candidate for conf player of the year? or at least one of the top several candidates. i assume williams from arizona is still the favorite for conf POY - despite the terrible weekend and relinquishing a hold on first-place alone - because ucla is more balanced and defensive oriented. that balance hurts ucla(for POY) because the other top teams have clear #1 players; williams, thompson and Vucevic.
do i have that about right or not? how would the conf POY candidates breakdown 1-5 right now?
Klay Thompson will be in the mix for POY.
