O'Neill Update
According to sources within USC's athletic dept., Trojans coach Kevin O'Neill will release a statement later today saying he made a ``poor decision.'' The sources said O'Neill got into a verbal altercation with an Arizona fan he knew for 25 years last night at the J.W. Marriott hotel.
His wife, Roberta, then argued with a security guard at the hotel. The pair then got into a cab and went back to their downtown penthouse. Sources said the incident lasted about 30 seconds.
USC athletic director Pat Haden's had two conversations with O'Neill regarding the incident and O'Neill will coach tonight's game against Arizona.

He got into a verbal altercation with an Arizona donor and the donor walked away with a laceration on his face. Now that is some violent verbal altercation!
The booster is one of Loot Olson's best friends and drinking buddies. KO told the drunk to get out of his face, especially after the way Loot and Co. threw O'Neill under the bus after one season at U of Eh. KO's wife tried to serve as peacemaker before hotel security arrived and told all parties to leave.
Very clever, an Ariz booster picks an altercation with their next opponnents HC. Nothing like creating a distraction to or possible suspension of the opponnents coach. I guess Ariz is pulling out all stops to win the weakling Pac 10 tournament, in order to hopefully avoid one of those dreaded 8-9 seeds in the Big Dance.

mo, here's my reasoning. Cal "lays in the weeds until they win and they are NASTY at their own venue. You can't even walk down the street without getting a bunch of crap. Oregon, on the other had used to be towards the bottom until they started getting good about 8 years ago. They are not as "mouthy" as Cal. No argument on your 3-5. Put the @$$holes in a hat and pick one :-)

Good list NOBS. ASU fans used to be the worst when they were good, I was at a game at Oregon in the late 80's and they were already showing signs of their asshole behavior. Cal fans have always sucked ass and always will.

Quite frankly, I could move Fucla down a peg or two. They just know that they are substandard to us and whine about us. To be expected. Lute was dirty, just like filthy Wooden.
Picking the biggest jerks by school is not a science. But if I were to judge by my personal experiences at football and basketball games, Oregon is No. 1-- they are beyond rude, they are dangerous. I was there a couple of years ago and a drunk 20-year old wanted to fight me right on the spot because I had on SC colors.
Washington is also dangerous. I did not dare to openly root for SC when I was surrounded by those rabid Huskies' fans.
Oregon State is cool, perhaps because they have been down for so long. But glad to see them doing well lately.
Cal rooters are usually ugly, but they were pretty quiet the other day as SC laid them out
