Haden needs to conduct a national search for a top coach.
No excuses about the schedule. Princeton took a game from LSU at LSU last weekend. A seven game losing streak to start the season is very bad. We are losing to UCSB 3-0 in the bottom of the 6th today.
This will be Haden's first big hire, so he better get it right. From what I've read he really got it right with the Woman's Lacrosse coach, but that is a new program without the history of success that SC's baseball program has had, and fans/alum want again.
I played for Cruz at LMU, and he's an aloof guy. He knows the sport, but doesn't relate to the players real well. He was a perfect fit for SC's last minute hire since he knows the program.
USC should try to lure Augie Garrido, George Horton, or Rich Hill.

The third time will be a charm after Kreuter and Cruz. Scouts haven't been impressed with Cruz's ability (or lack of) to run a game, and he wasn't the most popular guy when he was the head coach for Team USA. Rich Hill should be the next head coach. He's won at a private school, can recruit well all over the West Coast and embrace the entire community. Haden better not screw this one up.

Horton or Garrido??? HAWR-HAWR!!! why not just hire Mike Scioscia??
Scott - they are rebuilding from 2010....where they went 28-32! I guess NOBS shouldn't expect better than 20-40 then. That's a .333 winning percentage, but higher than NOBS percentage at scoring with a girl.
