On Black Socks, Black Jerseys

It’s clear after talking to people in Heritage Hall that the black socks in the spring game was a trial balloon. USC athletic director Pat Haden’s comments yesterday indicated the trial was not a success.
The uniforms are a different matter. This was not something anyone wanted revealed, probably to avoid a public backlash. It does seem perplexing to wear them against UCLA when the rules were recently changed to allow each team to don home jerseys and revive a long-time tradition.

Yes. Absolutely, Scott! Anyone with a brain would understand that and honor the tradition as a special part of the rivalry. On the other hand, someone so insecure will do anything to try and make himself look better, regardless of the cost.

  2. Thank god Scott. God forbid we miss one moment of coverage regarding USC’s socks. Information on recruits, the depth chart, the appeal – good. Information on socks, jersey color – worthless.
