Speaking Of Baseball
The first name that always comes up if USC is going to hire a baseball coach is Oregon coach George Horton, who is believed to be interested and formerly coached at Cal State Fullerton.
But I would recommend that athletic director Pat Haden look across the state to Oregon State coach Pat Casey. He won two national titles and is currently ranked No. 2 in the nation and is 34-11 this season.

I 100% agree, but Pat Casey would never leave Oregon St. He has a great facility there and has built the program from nothing.
Casey is a very good coach. Haden should interview nationally. Brian O'Connor coach at Virginia would be my top pick. Tim Corbin, Vanderbilt should be considered. Vandy is a private school, high academic standards, and a great team. No regional again this season is the final straw. Baseball is a flagship sport at SC and should be resurrected with a great hire!
Casey is at a PUBLIC school, SC needs to find a guy who's been successful at a PRIVATE school. Horton is going to be 60 next year, is that what SC baseball really needs at this point, a 60 year old, I don't think so.
Casey isn't going anywhere. He's been coaching in the state forever. You might as well wish for Terry Francona.
Oregon is a horrible place for baseball - we are still practicing in the rain on muddy fields - and its May!
then once it dries up, we have mosquitos
and when the mosquitos are gone, we have a few nice weeks before the rainy season starts
oh, and one more thing...
LAKERS SUCK (even worse than the Blazers)
At least they've managed to win once on the national stage...
