Answer Sunday! (Part 2)

Another reader is believes Ohio State will not suffer the same penalties as USC.

ESPN is reporting that Pryor has been making three to five thousand dollars a week selling autographs. Also reported was that he has eight to twelve cars. The “institutional control” rap against the Trojans has used with hateful vehemence by many commentators on ESPN like Andre Ware and Mark May. Why don’t I hear the same sort of comments about the buckeyes and Tressel?

Once again I’m willing to wager whatever penalties Ohio State gets from the NCAA will not come close to those against USC, particularly the the scholarship reductions, allowing players to transfer without penalty, and vacating wins. The fans and boosters at USC were not responsible for the venality of Reggie Bush but it sure as hell seems that the buckeye faithful profited and contributed to Pryor’s dishonesty. The hypocrisy of these football experts galls me to no end and makes me think Mike Garrett was right. They are jealous of USC’s success.

A: I think USC fans have the right to be upset if Ohio State suffers lighter penalties and as I always say, nothing the NCAA does surprises me. I think the breadth of violations within the Ohio State program are worse than USC, which pretty much focused on Ohio State. The NCAA said in its report that USC should have known what was going on with Bush. It appears at Ohio State that people did know there were problems. Which is worse?

If the NCAA sanctions Coach Sunshine and Ed Oregeron for violations at Tennessee with a one year recruiting ban, a huge fine and suspension from coaching several games this season, do you think Pat Haden will fire them and bring a new coach and staff in who are free of ethical taint?

A: It’s a huge leap to say the NCAA suspends Lane Kiffin but if they did I could see Haden doing something, but only if he sees problems on the field this season.

  2. @Yoda: Ok, you little green space monkey, I have to admit, that’s your best stuff to date. I didn’t watch those movies so most of your stuff i don’t get, but this was good.

Yoda, are you also WEB Dupree?

  3. Brother Jethro, I see you waited until Sunday, when you knew I would be busy with church affairs at Normandie Lord of Zion, to make your false accusations. I am not posting as “Yoda” or “Bucket”.

Check this, J-Sab: “He that worketh deceit shall not dwell within my house: he that telleth lies shall not tarry in my sight.” Psalms 101:7. Take heed!

Brother Jethro, ask me a question, and I will not lie to you.

By the way — I see that “Bowl” is spelled with a capital “I” in that handle up there. What is that about? Somebody get renowned symbologist Robert Langdon on the phone!
