Three USC recruits were picked in the baseball draft: Third baseman Travis Harrison was selected 50th by the Minnesota Twins, shortstop Christian Lopes was taken in the seventh round by Toronto while pitcher Stephen Tarpley was taken in the eighth round by the Cleveland Indians.

UCLA player picked first despite UCLA's upset loss to UC Irvine in the regionals. ok, that was just an excuse to bring up that UC Irvine upset UCLA in the regionals.
