611 is on to something. Not sure what USC is disposing, but in court, a LOT of ugly stuff could come out. Scary thought for USC.

This could spell trouble for USC. This is litigation against the NCAA with someone other than USC in charge. The NCAA will now be a defendant, meaning they now have subpoena power -- the power to demand documents and to conduct depositions. Look for a wave of amnesia to suddenly affect everyone involved from the Garrett/Carroll days.

Why is everybody sweating this?-- SC already received its sentence, and by the time the McNair 'suit is finalized the Trojans would probably have completed all of the directives i.e. loss of 30 scholies.

Even if it were shown that Carroll personally brokered a deal between Lake and Bush (an extreme example used for illustration purposes only), the NCAA is not going to be able to back-track and lay further penalties on the university.

Suppose they subpoena documents from USC and more incriminating stuff comes out. How much worse can it possibly get?

Will USC have to give back a Heisman Trophy? Will USC have to give back a BCS Trophy? Will USC have to vacate several wins as well as Pac 10 championships?
