Jethro, I am no defender of Bucket or ThaiMex, but you're out to lunch on this one. ThaiMex's first post is addressed to Bucket ("Chucker") and ends with his usual nonsensical sign-off about "the Curse". It didn't sound like Bucket at all (although they do both have a weakness for multiple exclamation points).

But I do support your Search for the Truth. Here is some evidence of someone using the same technique across multiple handles:

"Son of Charlie Bucket" = capital I in place of the L in Charile

Fake "Sam Gilbert" = capital I in place of the L in Gilbert

Fake "Monopoly is Over Here" = capital I in place of the L in Monopoly

If you are the one doing the fake Monopoly and fake Sam Gilbert (or, more properly, the fake fake Sam Gilbert), I don't really see why you used the capital I for the L in Charlie in your own handle, unless it was an attempt to prevent the hacking of your account (but now that we know the "I for L" tactic, it seems like no one's account is actually being hacked on this blog).

Re: Jethro's "wild conspiracy theories," I do have one advantage over Jethro, in that I know that certain trollish characters on this blog are not being written by you, because they're being written by me.

Jethro, for God's sake, I believe there must be at least five separate individuals on that list -- yet you forgot to add the character of "NOBS", who I believe is perhaps Bucket's greatest creation, embodying all the worst, most stereotypical aspects of a USC alum, as imagined by people who hate USC.

Considering that it was you, Jethro, who pioneered the "Who else is really Bucket?" game on this blog, you don't seem to be putting any effort into it anymore.

Meanwhile, I admit I'm now intrigued; I had assumed that Bucket was writing "Yoda" and "Smackula", but how can I be sure? And how can I convince you that I am not Bucket, without giving you my actual name? And even if I did give you my real name, how would you know that I am not the person writing Bucket? It is a puzzlement, as the King of Siam might say! I'm enjoying this more than all the dispiriting talk about our offensive line.

Jethro, I didn't say that I "know" that they are separate; I said I believe that at least several of them are. Well, I do know that at least two people must be represented among those handles -- me and at least one other person.

My belief is based upon five years of reading this blog. The humor in the Bucket/Yoda/Smackula posts has always seemed to me to be likely the work of one person. I don't think ThaiMex sounds anything like these characters. I told you before that I think UCLA Dynasty is a USC fan spoofing the Bruin trolls, just like "Westwood Rob". And if you were a reader of Gold's blog, you would know that UB and VB have a whole history over there going back years, which includes very little (intentional) comedy. They tend to get mocked by their fellow Bruin fans for their tacky boasting about their elaborate tailgating, among other things.

And no, I've never met anyone else who will admit to posting on this blog. I don't expect that I ever will -- which is kind of a shame. If Bucket really has posted as Yoda and Count Smackula, then I've enjoyed a lot of his stuff over the past few years. But it's a good thing "NOBS" doesn't really exist; just imagine!

By the way -- I realize that "Jethro" may also be just another Bucket character, and if so, he's bamboozled me good.

Just for fun, let's say that you are not Bucket. Since he claims that he's famous who do you think he is? I think he could be Rick Neuheisel. Spending as much time as he does on here and neglecting his primary job would go a long way towards explaining the current state of UCLA football.

Jethro, I have no idea who he is, and I do not know whether to take any of his hints seriously. Frankly, although I went to USC for undergrad, I did not grow up in California, and I know relatively little about the history of the USC and UCLA sports programs, so even if Bucket has some affiliation with one of the teams, I wouldn't necessarily recognize his name even if he revealed it.

Your Neuheisel guess is not bad. Or maybe he's that UCLA QB who's always sitting on the bench with an injury... and posting on this blog?

UB and his boy Dave the Video Bruin are off in Tustin planning their next meth BBQ. I think they had some other "Ultimate" family and friends that posted but they seem to have fallen in that BBQ with Brian Dohn and were cannibalized through a glass pipe. The same glass pipe UB sucks on to forget that his son failed to get into his powder blue and piss alma mater and VB hits to forget what a disappointment he is to his family.

BruinRob lives in Cerritos with his mother. He tells her that he's an online real estate consultant but he really spends his days flirting with portly women on the topix boards. If he's posting then it's not under the "BruinRob" handle, it was pretty much retired when he realized people now know his last name (if you're trolling, you probably shouldn't link your account to anything that can be traced back to your facebook page. just as suggestion).

Admittedly, only some of what I just said about those three individuals are absolute facts... the rest are just likely assumptions. For instance, I'm just guessing BruinRob knows he'd look ridiculous standing next to a skinny woman and sticks to the chubs and the UTBA prefers meth to other narcotics.

But saying BruinRob lives with his mom is just a joke, he has no idea who his birth mother is. All he knows about her is that she wasn't handy enough with that rusty hanger to scrape him out of her womb properly, just hooked him enough to leave a brown dent in his forehead.

I used to just assume WESTWOOD ROB was BruinRob's new handle and skip his posts but I started reading him recently and I'll buy that he's a reverse-troll. If you're not, then I say well played sir.

If NOBS is one as well... well kudos to him as well because I didn't suspect it.

I don't know about ThaiMex, he seemed like his own person (a special kind of stupid) but I haven't paid much attention.

Yoda seems pretty much generic. Hard to tell who someone is when they only speak in Star Wars haikus. He could be Bucket or just Vic the Brick.

I appreciate your view on the various personalities and you make some astute points but this is how I see the Bucket community.
I have not been on here that long and do not pay attention to the UCLA board so my opinion is relatively fresh.

Bucket is Bucket, the son or ghost versions have been added to deal with impersonators.

Yoda and Smakula are obviously from that same keyboard. Characters with a twist that soon became tiresome. Smakula lost the europeon accent some time ago.

W.E.B. Dupree is used to argue with Bucket over various topics, a devil's advocate if you will. He has even admitted to this one a couple of times and then had Dupree deny it.

Thai Mex: for quite a while I never considered that he could be another of Bucket's creations but became convinced that he was. He is definitely angrier and more confrontational than the others.

I think he created Westwood Rob to be confused with BruinRob who nobody could have created. Westwood is often used to argue against the conspiisy theories and attempt to throw the dogs off of the scent. It is easy to deny when you can come at it from different angles.

I think he also is UCLA Dynasty and UB and created the fake Monopoly but they are just role players in this drama.

I may be wrong and as I expect denials to come in from every angle. Nobody can prove oe disprove anything here, just present their cases.

Why do I put this much thought into this? Good question that I don't have a good answer for but it has been entertaining.

@ Sam - Does "VB" stand for "Video Bruin"? I always wondered. Re: Bruin Rob, he still shows up here from time to time, to post that link to the "World University Rankings" he loves so much.

@J-SAB: Bucket is only Bucket. As for the Count, he is just an imitator. I know a Trojan who knows who Bucket is (he won't tell me who he is because he is allegedly a public figure) and he is not these other people you claim he is. But I hear the 'cadre' actually does get together at an undisclosed location. I am trying to get more info. They can run but they can't hide.

Yeah, "VB" does actually stand for Video Bruin and he's UB's son. They used to brag about the "UBTA" (Ultimate Bruin Tailgating Association) setting up in the same section of the Rose Bowl parking lot before every UCLA game. If you want to get under his skin just ask why he didn't follow in his father's footsteps and attend UCLA.

I kind of hate myself just a little for knowing so much about that family.
