Jordan Payton Decommits
Just as we predicted the past few months, Oaks Christian wide receiver Jordan Payton will not attend USC. Payton said Friday he is no longer committed to the Trojans.
But USC's coaches cooled on him months ago and he did not attend the Rising Stars camp last week. Payton will now consider Arizona State, Cal, Oklahoma, Michigan and Notre Dame.
Who can blame him?? USC is a program on the decline and will be for the next 10 years...and besides, if you're a WR - who in their right mind would want to go to USC? when they have tons of WRs!! any RB, QB, or WR accepting a scholarship at USC should be considered D-U-M-B.
Notice how his other hometown college isn't on his list? After last year's recruiting class and another season of sucking, I think you'd have to consider any above average football player considering ucla D U M B.

I like how in one sentence BruinRob says that USC is on the decline and in the next sentence they have so much talent that you'd be dumb to go there cause you won't play. Make up your mind.
The NCAA probation 15 scholarship limits are going to make this a common occurence.
So when a program "cools" on an athlete they basically ignore him and wait for him to decommit?

Actually, you are completely wrong, UCLA getS whom they go after. I don't know if you knew or not, but UCLA has the toughest academic standards in the country for student athletes (among-st the public schools), so obviously they're not going after some goof-ball thugs that USC builds shrines for.

BruinRob is correct. It took those high academic acheivers on the UCLA football team to figure a way to use those Handicapped Parking Permits. Or maybe it was high moral standards. Thugs would never pull that off.

I'm still waiting for you to explain your academic-standards-are-too-tough-for-UCLA-to-succeed theory while Stanford, the school with the highest academic standards for students and student-athletes in the Pac-12 can field a football team that finishes 4th in the nation.

@Sam Gilbert II - I don't know the reason for Stanford having the toughest admission standards in the Pac-12 and yet finished #4 in the nation...my guess is they had a great coaches that got the best out of their "intelligent" players.

Weird because most trOXans who come to the Rose Bowl are deferential and meek, just like the ones I run into in the professional ranks...the Bruins I have interviewed for positions always outshine their trOXan counterparts. And the few trOXans I have hired have been disappointments. It seems like they are always on the verge of quitting, or calling daddy. No wonder Kiff fits in so well there!
