Time for Oregon to self-impose sanctions and forget about the "we didn't do anything wrong" stance. When there is a cooperating witness (Lloyd Lake and now Will Lyles), the NCAA can build any case that it wants to. The NCAA is the police, prosecutor, judge, jury, and executioner all wrapped into one. Paying a guy to steer recruits to your school is a big no-no. It is worse than a would-be agent secretly plying a player with extra benefits. Where is the institutional control?

A few years from now, both Oregon's and Auburn's records from 2010 season may be vacated.

What's more painful that seeing your school get put on probation? Playing at a school that is not on probation but still can't beat programs handicapped by scholarship reductions, etc.

The ncaa flexed thier muscles and showed everybody how badass they are by nailing SC. Now they can go back to sleep and everybody else will now get off easy. The ncaa does not want to mess with ou/nike and even ohio state will be penalized substantially less than sc.
