First Practice
My usual experience is that readers care most about new players, so tailback Amir Carlisle and wide receiver George Farmer were probaby two freshmen who stood out the most Thursday. No surprise with Farmer.
``He was everything he was supposed to be,'' USC coach Lane Kiffin said.
Maybe no surprise with Carlisle, either, considering his impressive academic record.
Among returning players, safety Drew McAllister. who battled injuries for two years, intercepted a pass. Matt Barkley threw his usual two interceptions though one pass was tipped.
The news tonight was that Armond Armstead does not have a heart condition and is doing light conditioning until a couple more tests are completed. And incoming freshman tailback Javorious Allen is supposed to join the team this weekend after finishing a summer class in Tallahassee.
