Haden On Fixing The System
USC athletic director Pat Haden said in a 710-AM interview that universities need to do a better job educating their presidents to fix the NCAA.
``Really, the universities have to take a little control. At the end of the day, it's the university presidents who really make the decisions in the NCAA. My own personal observation is we, athletic directors, me included, don't do a good enough job of educating our presidents . . . so they don't have the right information in front of them to have their votes make sense.''

Oh please. What a pu$$y.
What a blatantly political comment. I suppose it never dawned on Haden that the presidents may actually BE the problem...Who votes for a system that maximizes the profitability of the schools' major programs, partly by providing for inadequate stipends to the student athletes while making up for it by forbidding them from working during the school year? Who created a system that almost begs students whose parents can't afford to subsidize their athletic pursuits to cheat? Who elects the senior management of the NCAA and then provides no oversight while the senior managers appear to staff key committees with their cronies? Who votes for an appeals system that doesn't provide for corrections of obviously excessive sanctions that look more like personal score settling than predictable outcomes based on settled facts? Not the Athletic Directors - they don't have a vote. And if their presidents are not interested enough to inform their votes by soliciting their ADs' input, well maybe the problem is the presidents.
Wow, strong post. I'm beginning to second guess Haden. Never thought i'd say that...
what a surprise, Haden makes another statement to the media that doesn't directly address any USC concerns. Every time this guy speaks he dances around the issues, doesn't make any forceful statements and basically dodges the issue. Its been 13 mos since he became ad and he has not made one significant decision yet. Has anyone else noticed that? All the coaches Oneill, Kiffin etc were in place when he got there (oh sorry i think he made a hire for the women's la crosse team). Statements like this are no longer a surprise and that is why more and more alumni and donors are feeling discouraged about Pat Haden's handling of the athletic department. If this administration cant stand up and defend a premier university like USC then i say we start a whole new AD search.
Haden's way smarter than you 4 BONEHEADS put together. The vast majority of SUCks fans are happy with Hayden's approach, especially compared to the "CAVEMANs" style you had overseeing the program before.
In a perfect world, your mother's would have used EFFECTIVE means of birth control.

ThaiTaco, most of the morons you know are not "insiders" like we are. Bottom line, you now zip. Leave it to the REAL boosters and pros to provide the real scoop. Now go back to cleaning the restrooms at Panchos and get ready for the lunch crowd. We'll get back to you soon.
NOBS, stop flirting with ThaiMex, you slut! He is not good enough for you. The only "insider" status I am interested in, is having you "inside" me once again.
Come to me now, my sweet lover...let's start over. You won't be sorry. ;)
Mono, you are as big a tool as JBoy....in fact I think you are really bSlob.
