Playing at a campus stadium is huge. Don't even go there that the coliseum isn't a campus stadium. Students get to walk to the game, and alums get to visit the campus while going to the game. When I went to SC, UCLA was still calling the coliseum home. It was a joke for UCLA. Even though the stadium was split in half for the game, very cool, it was a home game for USC. Very few college teams share a Pro stadium. And the tailgating would suck at a downtown stadium. Farmers would be great for the Pac 12 title game. Split the game between Farmers and Arizona. If the 49ers and Raiders get a new shared stadium in the Bay area, add this to the mix. The Seahawks and Broncos stadiums wouldn't be good because of the potential weather problems, both for the game and travel for the fans.
I agree, but I say keep the Pac-12 Championship Game in the Rose Bowl.
huntingtonharvey........"keep"? It isn't going to be in the Rose Bowl unless a miracle happens and UCLA wins the Pac 12 South and has a better ranking than the North team. Also, it would be kind of weird to say that you want to go to the Rose Bowl for the Pac 12 championship so you can win and go to the Rose Bowl.
If they decide to change from the current home field of the top ranked team, then the NFL stadium solution will probably be the decision. That way they aren't playing in one of the Pac 12 schools home field. San Diego was also a consideration, but I don't think they'll put this game in a city without a Pac 12 school. That, and their stadium isn't up to par with the new NFL stadiums.
