Lost in the shuffle Saturday was first-year punter Kyle Negrete, who averaged 37.2 yards but more importantly, placed all four punts inside the 20-yard line.
Saw it and was impressed with the discipline. Shows he has been coached well... Judging by the openess of the recievers, I don't blame Kiffin for calling as many passes as he did. But this is non-conference... when are the running backs & the lineman going to get the reps during a real game to mesh? I am worried the linebackers are still lost, running around before the plays with "happy feet" and not always being around the tackle.

Lost in what shuffle? I certainly took note of it at the time. The TV crew commented on it. Kiffin highlighted it in his press conference. The post-game radio show discussed it. The other LA papers talked about it a fair bit.
Oh, I see. Lost in your shuffle to point out every facet of how bad the game was.

Substitute bruins for trojans and ucla for usc in your piece and it explains perfectly why you spend so much time here hating.

I love having Buehler 2.0 out there.
Think about it: walk-on position player gets a chance to start on special teams and becomes a standout player. For Buehler, that meant going from safety to kicker and then to the NFL. For Negrete, it means going from linebacker at San Diego University to starting punter at USC. That Negrete's grandfather, Jim Sweeney, coached Lane Kiffin at Fresno State makes it all the better of a story. Although if Kiffin doesn't get better, Negrete might have a different coach for his senior year.

What did you expect Scott...doesn't he share your famous "traditional" #35 with the freshman punter?
