Run Defense

It's the pass defense that sucks.

What does it matter on the run game. SC couldn't stop the short passing game and that's why they got beat. They have good players so just maybe the coaching is to blame.
Same as last year. Better players same coaching scheme that can't stop a spread style offense. There was zero adjustment to the defensive game plan after halftime. OMG we're in trouble fans. Better teams with better offenses are yet to come. SC will win two more games for rest of the year. Hopefully then, Haden will come to his senses and hire a coach and staff who belongs in a top ten program.

That was my observation, no adjustment at all to the short sideways passing game. I could tell from the alignments on 3rd down what play was coming and I have no coaching experience. Personnel not withstanding, the defensive schemes are predictable. ASU knew exactly how to attack the Tampa 2 alignment all night long. I am hoepful but beginning to think there are many more challenges (losses) looming.

Kiffin's got more excuse than NOBS does male customers, and that's saying a lot

watch out for Foles - that guy puts the ball right on the money

and if you blitz, he finds the open guy

only way to stop Foles is to get pressure from D line and cover the field w/ everyone else

he doesn't like to throw it away - easier to get a coverage sack than a blitzing sack on him

Hey, we would have beat Texas if we stopped Vince Young on last drive, that's not bad, is it? I do hope the team matures on defense but I have the bad feeling that we will be outcoached too often to be a big time team anytime soon.

If a frog had wings, it wouldn't bump its ass. The fact is USC did give up the 70 yard TD run, which gave ASU the lead and momentum that they carried for the rest of the first half. Osweiller also burned USC by scrambling on third down runs to sustain drives.

What the hell is this...The USC school of "IF's". Every losing game (that's nearly 1/2 of all conference games played) is followed with an excuse that starts with "IF". You can't spell EXCUSE without USC!

I hate those kinds of justifications. And if you take away all of their plays they had 0 yards. If you take away all of their defensive plays we had 1000. A loss is a loss. What are we doing to prevent another 70 yard play from Arizona in the next game? That's what I want to hear about.

As to the topic, Pops is way past his prime. He will be exposed other conference QB's (certainly not ucla I might add) this year as being totally ineffective. the question remains - what will Haden do to force the issue.
