Sunday Thoughts
What's the saying about learning more in a loss? Here's some more observations.
Lane Kiffin lamented USC's third-down convesion rate (1 for 9). Did he think it might be better without calling runs on three different third-and-long situations in USC's first three possessions?
Why doesn't USC throw more over the middle or use more simple three-step drops that would make Matt Barkley's easier?
No defense removed any USC offensive threat as well as Kiffin with Rhett Ellison stuck at fullback. He rarely touches the ball and takes away from the tight end spot.
The Tampa 2 defense did not seem good for much last night other pass-interference penalties.

I don't want to toot my own horn but TOOT...TOOT!! Did you see what I wrote in Wolf's "Three Reasons on Who Wins" (by the way, that grammar is dubious at best)
UCLA Dynasty said:
Three reasons SUC loses: Fatt Barkley dreaming of Ho-Ho's instead of TDs throws a pick 6. (CHECK)
Lame Kitten burns 3 time outs on the opening drive of the 3rd quarter and wets himself on playcalling in the 4th. (Joke's on me, it was the first half Lame wet himself)
Monte Kiffin forgets where he left his car keys and misses the game but does enjoy a nice bowl of soup and is in bed after Murder She Wrote. (Seems like the only reasonable explanation the same pass to the RB in the flat was there ALL GAME)
I appreciate that UCLA fans spend so much of their lives on a USC blog. It shows who's who in this city. And since UCLA can never beat SC themselves, why not rejoice when someone else does? Well... I love it!
This will be a good team this season. They moved the ball and killed themselves with turnovers putting the defense in bad situations in the heat of the desert over and over. Enjoy bRUIN geeks, lord knows you wont when your team plays the Trojans... LOL...
FIGHT ON!!
Over the last 23 games...SUCks is 14 & 9. "Tailback U", more like "YESTERDAY U". Nice to see the coaching staff continues to recruit all those 4-5 star receivers and ignore interior linemen. Yesterday was an indicator of what's just around the corner.
14 & 9, makes you guys just WHINE!
Fit on Though!
The Trojans are 11-5 under Kiffin and 32-10 since Neuheisel took over in Westwood. I don't care enough about UCLA to know what their win and loss record is over that time but I'm guessing any Bruin would love to have USC's reason to "whine."
ThaiMex, you are a perfect example of a Bruin fan.
Exactly right, Karillo. UCLA's happiness as a fan base is predicated on what USC is doing.
O.K....since you knuckleheads are impressed with NUMBERS...
Conference record 2011 0-1
Conference record 2010 5-4
Conference record 2009 5-4
Looks to me like SUCks conference record (do you really want to include the not so impressive "pre-season" "WINS" against Minny, her poor sister Virginia, Hawaii, etc....I didn't think so) is a.. FITE ON, TRADITION RICH, Chest Pounding....10 & 9. Sorry beefcake...10 and 9 is the best you have to offer with The CHEATING (The Houses, The Cars, The Cash, bling, bling thing) and Limbo Like ADMISSION STANDARDS? What happened to CHEATIN' IS WINNIN'? You mean to tell me with all those TOP 5 recruiting classes, the VERY BEST YOU GOT is ONE game ABOVE 500?
ONE QUESTION...where would you CLOWNS be if the rest of the Conference Played by your rules?
And...you wonder why everyone laughs at you...
Fite on, Spit on, Grope on, Cheat On, giggle giggle giggle....LMAOROTF..
For a "school" that claims to be a National College FOOTBALL POWER this is pretty weak stuff. LEZ GO!!!!!!
ThaiMex,
If you are going to write something on a blog, please get your fact right.
USC beat Utah, so the conference record for 2011 is 1-1!
The SUCks/UTAH game TECHNICALLY did not count...for in conference rankings (look it up)...Have it as you will...
I hate to correct a fellow Cadre member but that SUCs/Ute game did count in the standings. I believe you're thinking of California/Colorado.Nevertheless, UCLA is above USC in the conference standings and will likely stay that way all season.
I was coming unglued when he called runs with 3rd and long, although one was a 3 yard pass. When we play throwing the ball north south we win, when we throw to the sidelines we lose or win to closely.
I continually ask why our db's are 3 yards off when the ball arrives, or why nobody looks for the ball. I see other opposing teams doing it.
oh ya, I never respond to ucla trolls, they never say anything worth responding to, or it has already been shot down once or twice. Our team takes a dump and here come the flies (ucla)
Just a thought here steve49, but by saying I never respond to UCLA trolls (intelligent posters), aren't you, in fact, responding to UCLA trolls (intelligent posters)?
steve49: you sound like LJ! what is it about trOXans and their inclination to tell OTHERS how to behave, and then of course ignoring their own mandates!!
shades of Larry Craig!! tap-tap-tap!
Speaking of Larry Craig... Have you guys been watching Curb your Enthusiasm this season? Hilarious, maybe one of the best seasons ever.
I stand corrected by brother "DYNASTY" and sincerely apologize for my posting error. Let the record show we members of the CADRE, are motivated by honesty and fairness, and when called upon, we do not STONE WALL AND DENY (especially to the NCAA, when we've been caught), but admit to our errors and move onward.
fit on SCUmbag U!
DynoDick, your GirlyBall jersey is making you go crazy. Sure, the Fucla program is better. hahahaha
ROFLMAO
USC's conference record of 11-9 since 2009? LMAO what happened to all those great recruing classes?? imagine if USC had to admitt their student athletes with the same tough admission standards as UCLA's? they would go winless every year!! ASU should have gone for another TD to make it 50 points just like Stanford did 2 years ago.
What's the bRuin's record Slob? ROFLMAO. Fucla Football program, right next the Mrs. Slob Forest Lawn. ROFLMAO
I hate to take the troll bait, but isn't [University redacted] 8-19 in conference under [Coach redacted]? I thought so. And they are talking smack? The times we live in.
ThaiMex/BruinRob,
Since you brought up the Cardinal and team records since 2009, Stanford's Conference record over that period is 17-6. Your admission standards argument is pathetic.
You are perfect examples of Bruin fans.
Bucket,
When it was pointed out that you had made an error posting as Thai, did you correct yourself as Dynasty and then come back as Thai and admit your mistake?
You do like to post in the wee small hours don't you?
Karrillo, Harbaugh was not only the best coach in the Pac-10 he was also the best recruiter...he got the best of the smartest athletes to come to Stanford...Toby Gerhart had a 4.5 GPA in H.S. Before Harbaugh came along Stanford was a below average program, and after Luck leaves they will go back to being the Stanford of old. Agree, or disagree?
And my argument of the admission standards is only pathetic to you and the trOJan fans, facts are facts. Only ND and Stanford have tougher admission standards than UCLA in Div-1 football...look it up.
I refuse to look it up. Why don't you post a long list of links to prove it!
BruinRob,
I've got to hand it to you, that was a great job of proving my point that admission standards excuse is pathetic.
1. Harbaugh was great, he found the smart kids that can play football. There you go, there are smart kids who can play football. Strike against the admission standards excuse.
2. Brining up Notre Dame as having even harder admissions standards than UCLA... Notre Dame, one of the most successful schools in college football history. Once again, a strike against the admission standards excuse.
So good job fat man, you've done well at making yourself look bad.
And as far as addressing your attempt to change the subject with the "Stanford of old," you should look at what they have post-Luck and realize they should be fine. Brett Nottingham looks to be an excellent QB, Stepfan Taylor will give them a solid running game and they have the second-best recruiting class in the Pac-12. Most importantly, they have a more-than-competent coaching staff that costs less than Neuheisel and his crew.
My guess is that you'll let go of the academic standards argument now that it's obvious that you've been proven wrong and switch to the Stanford's-future topic. That's fine, there's nothing you can say to save your argument.
Karillo,
Remember that Rob can still go to:

c) Poodle jokes
