What Now After Garza?
Not exactly an ideal time to resign two days before a game. But Willie Mack Garza's resignation leaves a gap in the coaching staff. Former USC safety Sammy Knight is currently the lone coach in the secondary. This might have been an ideal situation for former cornerbacks coach Kris Richard to take over but he's with the Seattle Seahawks. Maybe Caesar will send him down but I doubt it as the NFL is about to start too.
Remember that USC defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin hired former USC secondary coach Greg Burns in Tampa Bay. I mention this because the secondary is not known as Kiffin's forte so Knight is suddenly a critical figure on the staff. I wouldn't be surprised if Daylon McCutcheon's name surfaces.
If nothing else, makes things a little more interesting on Saturday.

It could be that there was some wrong doing on SC's part, or (more likely IMO) it's possible that once a link between WMG and Lyles was discovered, an overly-cautious Pat Haden felt a need to cut ties with Garza. Anything that even remotely smells like impropriety will be rooted out by Haden and company.
There could be fire here, but I can't remember a single Texas player on the current USC roster, and it seems like Texas players is all Lyles had connections to. My guess is that this Haden's way of showing the NCAA that there will be no links to rule breaking, real or perceived.

@Owns: good analogy. The Bucker charged through this blog like Godzilla heading for the all you can eat sushi buffet. Maybe now we can control our own destiny without his macho head games disrupting our spirit and tradition.
