Answer Tuesday! (Part 3)

In this segment, a question on Pete Carroll and recruiting pops up.

Scott, you said recently that Orgeron, Davis etc were the guys who kept PC in line when it came to him locking on some recruits that they didn't feel were worthy of getting a scholie. Can you say who any of these recruits were and did PC not like being "reigned in " ?

A: The best way to answer is that I remember one year in particular, 2008 when Carroll went hot-and-cold on a group of recruits. One week he liked a guy. The next week he didn't want anything to do with him. And it wasn't just one. It was 10-15 guys. And that year he did not have Lane Kiffin or Ed Orgeron around. So USC kind of messed around on some prospects. And I know it drove some of the staff crazy too trying to convince him whether to take a guy. And this was not unusual. It happened every year. But he had strong recruiting coordinators to keep him focused.

Our 5 unimpressive wins have come over a sampling of the worst teams in college football. We take big first half leads and then coast in the second half.

The Trojans do not play hard for this coach. This is Michigan in reverse. Consistent underachieving.

Coaches and quarterbacks come in 3 flavors. Some are better than their teams. Some are about the same. Some are worse. Barks is about the same and Kiff is way worse.

ND has a less talent and much better coaching. This road trip should be very interesting. ND 38 USC 24. Similar to ASU if not worse.

A: I did not see a question in those comments.

Q: The Monopoly Is Over Here said:
You know you can't answer serious football questions from the fake me right?

Do you think that because the Trojans don't wear black socks on the road, the offense struggles?

A: That must be the secret key to the season.

Why does this site feature an ad trumpeting lib propaganda about the phony WaPo story "niggerhead"? It's really offensive.

Me bad. I did not understand the format for Open Forum.

How about - how did the Cal D all but shut out the Trojans in the 2nd half? How did Minnesota, Utah, and Arizona have a chance to tie us late in the 4th qtr? Does our 5-1 record reflect anything but a soft schedule?

Will we play hard for 4 quarters against ND? A road win there would be the 1st real sign of hope in the Kiffin era. Dare we hope?
